Foams

Foams are mixtures where gas bubbles are trapped inside a liquid or solid.

There are many examples in baking; we often try to incorporate air into our baked goods for various reasons such as improving texture, volume, and structure. And they span from lightly aerated to highly aerated depending on the food. We have cakes, which are essentially baked foams. Whipped creams are highly aerated liquid-based foams.
